Board Announcement

Thank you for your interest in the Longmont Food Rescue (LFR) Board of Directors and joining our mission to create a more just and less wasteful food system.

We facilitate the sustainable redistribution of nutritious food that might otherwise go to waste to feed people experiencing food, housing, and financial insecurity, while educating local communities about food justice.

If you have a passion for our mission and food systems, we invite you to fill out an application to join our Board. We are actively seeking members who have skills in:

• Fundraising or accounting

• Spanish language

• Non-profit law

• Community engagement.

Board terms and expectations

In the first quarter of 2026, we will be electing new Board members. Terms begin in March and new members will be elected for a 2-year term.

The LFR Board currently meets the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom (this may be modified according to the schedules of new Board members).

Before applying to join our Board, please consider the expectations for the role. Board members are expected to:

• Attend monthly Board meetings

• Volunteer with events and programming, which may include: fundraisers, tabling at events, food rescue, onsite distributions, volunteer shift training

• Attend annual half-day Board retreat

• Assist with fundraising, which may include grants, sponsorships, membership solicitation, and events
